My Vinyl Image Is Not Straight

This video shows you two possible reasons that your vinyl could be sliding.

My vinyl image is not straight.

This will help ensure your vinyl sticks well. I aligned my design on design space according to the placement on the vinyl. Vinyl can slide for a variety of reasons with your silhouette cutter. The other equipmen t you ll need.

Use a bold version of the font. I had to be careful not to remove the carpet from the floor with the super strength adhesive on the transfer tape. I used several colors of adhesive vinyl from expressions vinyl one of my favorite vinyl shops. Try increasing the size of the image.

If there is a lot of detail in your image or if you are using a super cute script font cursive it will only cut correctly when sized properly. Ghosting occurs when the sublimation transfer paper shifts during the sublimation process such as when you open or close your heat press. The vinyl material would shift dramatically in this scenario as the material would not be able to move freely in that. I pinky promise the vinyl was lined up exactly but when i cut it it cut 1 centimeter higher than i indicated for both cuts.

In the image you can also see that the pinch rollers are positioned to the right side of that break and are fully atop the knurled feed roller bar. Using vinyl on plastic. The snapping that results could have a disastrous effect on tracking. Start by cutting and weeding your labels. I ll call this sandwich the letter layer.

After i cut the vinyl with my cricut air 2 measure and cut the transfer tape to fit my vinyl i peel the backing off the transfer tape and stick it down onto my shag carpet. Realistically there may just be images that are too small or intricate to cut. Make certain you are using the correct sign vinyl film. Since most cutters do not have an auto unroll feature they will pull on the heavy roll of vinyl at their usual working speed.

Why is my image ghosting. Change or increase the size of the font if using one. If you are seeing a second version of your transfer like a shadow slightly to the side of your image you are experiencing what is known as ghosting.
